What
Claude Code reads git addresses written in SSH style, such as git@host:path or ones with a host in square brackets, to find the host and the path. That reading was rewritten. It now rejects more malformed addresses and handles bracketed IPv6 addresses (a newer style of internet address) and the user-name part differently.
Why
This reads as a security hardening, for example to make it harder for an address to pretend to point at a different host.
