Before Claude Code runs commands with its Bash tool (the tool Claude uses to run shell commands for you), it takes a snapshot of your shell setup: a saved copy of your shell functions, aliases and shell options, so commands behave the way your own terminal does. This release contains a rewritten way of building that snapshot. It is used in place of the old one only when a remote switch named tengu_lucky_garden is on, and it is off unless the server switches it on.
The rewritten snapshot:
- Functions are saved one at a time, so a function Claude Code cannot read drops out on its own instead of breaking the rest.
- Aliases are capped at 1,000 lines.
- Shell options are captured as before, alongside the functions and aliases.
If this is switched on for your account, the shell functions and aliases that Claude's Bash commands can see may differ from before. One broken function in your shell setup would no longer stop the others from being available, and a very long list of aliases would be cut off at 1,000 lines.
tengu_lucky_garden Off in both readingsThe flag server returned off for the account this site reads and for the anonymous baseline. A reading of off cannot rule out a rollout these two readings sit outside of.
This account: off · anonymous baseline: off · compiled default in v2.1.287: off
These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.
Read once, for one account on one subscription tier, against v2.1.287. It isn't a statement about your account. What a flag value here can and cannot tell you
Besides the remote switch there is another condition on when the new snapshot is used, and what it checks is not clear.
