What

Claude Code can tell you which settings file your auto-update setting came from. --add-dir adds extra working directories to a session.

When the setting comes from managed settings and an organization policy is active, Claude Code no longer credits it to "an --add-dir directory's settings". Before, it gave that answer whenever an added directory's settings included an auto-update value.

Why

The message is more accurate about where the auto-update setting came from.
