What

Claude Code can open your prompt in an external editor, a separate text editing program such as the one Ctrl+G opens. It used to pass the editor only the file. It now works out which line your cursor was on and passes that too, by adding + followed by the line number before the file name.

Why

When you switch to your editor, you land where you were typing instead of at the top of the prompt.
