What
A subagent is a helper Claude Code starts to work on part of a task, which hands back a final report when done. The instructions for the tool it uses to deliver that report now say: The call ends your run, so do everything else first. They also say that plain text written at the end of the run is not delivered. Before, the instructions only said to make this the last tool call and then stop.
Why
Subagents are told more plainly to finish their work before reporting and to put their answer in the report, so results are less likely to go missing.
