A remote session is one controlled from a device other than the machine it runs on. While a device is attached, the settings served to it are now frozen, and any change in that time is recorded as held rather than applied.
If a call is cancelled before its command starts, anything held for an install is now released, and the message says "the call was stopped before the command started". Claude Code also logs each of these calls with its outcome and attestation details.
