When Claude Code turns attachments into messages for the model, some are passed along as system reminders, short notes the model reads alongside the conversation. It used to leave out a fixed list of attachment types. It now decides using the role recorded on each attachment, and logs a report when that role is unknown or does not match what was expected.
The conversion also gained an accountMemoryWithheld option.
