Claude Code has two new messages about memory, the notes it keeps about a project between conversations:

  • A notice that memory stays paused and cannot be resumed from a session started by a tool or running in the background. A session is one conversation with Claude Code.
  • A hint to look for the project's memory files under /projects/<project uuid>/.
Why

These messages point to memory behaving differently depending on how a session was started. If memory is paused, a background or tool-started session is not the place to turn it back on.
