JSON Schema is a standard format for describing what shape data must have, used for things like tool inputs and outputs. When Claude Code converts to it, a multipleOf rule (the value must be a multiple of a number) changed:
A divisor of zero or a non-finite number is no longer written out; an error says it cannot be represented in JSON Schema.
A valid divisor is written as its absolute value, so a negative number becomes positive.
Before, the value was written out whatever it was.
Why
It stops invalid schemas from being produced for tools and outputs.
