What
The sandbox is the isolated environment Claude Code can run commands in, and it relies on a package called @anthropic-ai/sandbox-runtime. When looking for where that package is installed, Claude Code used to run npm root -g (which prints where npm keeps globally installed packages) and wait up to 5 seconds for the answer. That step now receives the location from elsewhere instead of running the command itself.
