Plugin copy buttons can now copy through a connected client app

When a plugin copies text outside the terminal, Claude Code now hands it to a connected client that supports copying instead of giving up

Plugins can ask Claude Code to copy text to the clipboard. Before, when Claude Code was not showing its interface in a terminal, the copy did nothing and a note said there was no clipboard path. Now the text is passed to a connected client app that says it supports copying, as long as the text is within a size limit. If no client accepts it, nothing is copied.

Plugins also gain three prompt actions that work through connected clients:

  • reading what is in the prompt
  • filling in the prompt
  • proposing text for the prompt
