claude plugin marketplace add adds a plugin marketplace, a catalogue of plugins you can install from. It now accepts --from-link, an option that does not appear in --help. It is meant for a program handling an install link. It adds the marketplace the way the install link would, then prints a single line of JSON: the marketplace name with added true or false, or, if the add is refused, a refused object naming the kind of refusal before the command fails.
With --from-link set:
the check for reserved marketplace names is skipped
a source that is already registered is reported as added: false and not added again
a marketplace whose name clashes with an existing one is refused
Separately, adding a marketplace now prints extra lines when an existing source was replaced.
Why
This looks like the command-line half of a one-click marketplace install link that another program will drive. You can type the option yourself, but nothing inside Claude Code uses it.
