When Claude Code shortens long output and shows a note like "+N lines" in its place, that note now ends with an approximate size, such as " (~12 KB)". The size appears only when at least 1000 characters are hidden. Smaller cuts still show just the line count and the hint for expanding the output.
Why
A line count alone can hide a lot. A few very long lines may be much bigger than they look. The size lets you judge whether the hidden part is worth opening.
