What
Claude Code keeps track of what a session is doing, such as running a turn, compacting the conversation or running a subagent (a helper Claude that works on part of a task). It now also records the time it spends idle waiting for you, with separate start and end markers for waiting and for working. Before, the idle time recorded nothing.
Why
Nothing you see changes directly. Claude Code's own activity records can now tell apart time spent working from time spent waiting on you.
