A forked agent is a separate copy of Claude that Claude Code starts to handle part of a task. Claude Code can now be told to pass on each piece of such an agent's output as it streams in. Forked agents also carry a label saying who is using memory, which is "worker" unless something else is set.
This is groundwork that could let Claude Code show live progress from forked agents.
