What
Claude Code has new status wording for a task that is still running in the background. It points to the output file where you can read the task's progress so far, and it says where the finished result will go:
- to another agent, when a different agent started the task, with the message "Its result is delivered to the agent that started it, not to you."
- to the caller, but only if the task finishes before the final response or the end of the turn (a turn is one round of you asking and Claude answering)
Why
This tells Claude plainly when a background result will arrive and when it will not, so it is less likely to wait for, or promise, a result that will never reach it.
