What
AskUserQuestion is the tool Claude uses to put a multiple-choice question to you. Its screen now works out whether the question is a confirmation that Claude Code itself forced, rather than one the model chose to ask. It counts as one when all of these are true:
Forced: the permission check says the caller forced the question.
No source: the request has no named source.
ID check: a check on the tool call's ID passes.
The result is handed to the part that builds the list of questions.
Why
The question screen can now tell a confirmation Claude Code requires apart from a question the model asked.
