If you use Claude Code through Google Vertex AI, the WebSearch tool (which lets Claude search the web) was previously available only when your model belonged to one of six named families. It is now available for every model except claude-opus-4-0.
This applies to everyone using the Vertex provider, with no setting involved.
Why
Vertex users on models that were missing from the old list, including newer model families, now get WebSearch.
