What
When you type a slash command (a command starting with /) that Claude Code does not know, several things are different:
- The "Unknown command" message now cuts the name off at 200 characters instead of 512.
- The follow-up lookup against policy and the list of stale commands now runs for any name made of letters, digits,
_,:and-. It is skipped when a file exists at that path, such as/tmp. - One field was removed from the usage report sent for unknown commands.
- A step that turned a command alias into its full name before this check was dropped.
Why
This is a small change to how Claude Code handles a mistyped or unavailable command.
