What
Claude runs skills, reusable sets of instructions, through the Skill tool. When a skill cannot be found, the tool now checks whether it was called under the namespace that synced skills used to have. A namespace is the prefix before the colon in a skill's name. If so, the tool suggests the skill's current full name. The usual "did you mean" suggestions now also consider synced skills' namespaced names. Before, only a plain spelling-based suggestion was offered.
The suggestion appears in every case. A remote setting that is off unless it is switched on remotely adds a further note to the message. The note says the skill comes from your claude.ai account and is not one that Anthropic publishes.
Why
This points toward account-synced skills moving from the anthropic-skills: prefix to claude-ai:. Calls that use the old prefix get steered to the right name instead of simply failing.
