When a request to use a folder on your computer is answered "attached", the main conversation now waits for that computer to announce itself before Claude Code tells the model which machines and tools are available. It waits once per request and does not wait if the computer the session came from is already online. How long it waited is logged.
This waiting is on unless it is switched off remotely.
A remote session should see the tools of a computer it has just attached in the same turn, instead of being told that the computer is missing.
