What
When a message comes in from someone else, for example through Remote Control or a third party, Claude Code shows Claude the sender's display name. That name is now cleaned first:
Brackets and <> become ().
Quote marks become '.
Symbols outside plain ASCII text are removed.
Why
A display name chosen by someone else, such as a Slack name, can no longer contain tag-like text that tries to pass itself off as instructions to Claude.
