What
When you install a plugin (an add-on package for Claude Code) or switch it to a different marketplace, Claude Code now refuses in three new cases:
- A switch is requested while copies are already installed and the list of installed copies is not fresh. You see
Plugin "<name>" was not switched.followed by details. - A plugin id among the plugin and its dependencies is not valid. This is caught before any settings are written.
- Fewer copies are installed than were shown.
Before, only two other checks guarded replacing a plugin.
Why
Switching a plugin to another marketplace now stops safely instead of acting on an out-of-date list of installed copies.
Something disagreesSomething we can check disagrees with this entry, or the writer said they could not settle it.
The writer flagged doubt
When the listing counts as not fresh, and when the fewer-copies case arises, is not settled.
