When Claude Code fetches its settings from a Cloud gateway and none of those settings can be applied as written, it now exits with its own message. The message says that none of the settings the gateway served could be applied and tells you to ask your administrator to fix them.
Before, this case showed the generic "Couldn't load settings" error, with advice about the network connection and logging in.
Why
The old advice pointed at network or login problems when the real cause was settings your administrator wrote incorrectly. The new message sends you to the person who can actually fix it.
