What
/install-github-app sets up the Claude GitHub App and, if you choose, GitHub Actions workflows and secrets (stored keys) in a repository. Before, cancelling ended it at once and said only that the installation was cancelled.
Now, pressing Esc while it is creating the workflow shows "Stopping after the step in progress…" and finishes that step first. Ctrl-C or Ctrl-D exits. When it stops, the message lists what was already done, for example "Installation cancelled by user. Already done in : saved the … secret, started opening the pull request page". A stop is no longer recorded as a setup failure.
The wizard also now shows "Checking for an existing ANTHROPIC_API_KEY secret…" while it checks the repository. If you cancel or leave that step during the check, the result is ignored.
Why
If you stop a setup half-way, you now know which secrets or pull request pages already exist in the repository, instead of having to guess.
The entry above is what we published on the day. These lines were added later, as Anthropic's own pages caught up, and they sit beside the original rather than replacing it.
