What
One git diff command that Claude Code runs for its own use now always passes these options:
--no-color
--src-prefix=a/
--dst-prefix=b/
--submodule=short
Your own Git settings for colour, file path prefixes or how submodules are shown therefore cannot change what this command outputs.
Why
In practice, Claude Code gets the same diff format whatever your Git settings are, which may fix diffs being read wrongly for people with customised settings.
