What
Diskless is a launch option for running Claude Code without writing to disk. When it is set, Claude Code's log writer now behaves differently:
- It skips updating the "latest" link that points to the newest log file.
- It discards any log text still waiting to be saved when Claude Code exits, instead of writing it out.
