Claude Code has a check that applies on macOS, outside HIPAA mode, when ios_app is listed among a user's development intents. It is controlled by a gate, a server-side switch that turns a feature on or off per account. The check used to read a separate gate, tengu_magical_pixel_startup, when it ran during startup, and tengu_magical_pixel otherwise. It now reads tengu_magical_pixel every time, treating it as off if no answer is available, and tengu_magical_pixel_startup is no longer referenced.
One gate now decides the check at startup and later alike, so the result no longer depends on when the check runs.
