When Claude Code starts, it loads some information early, which is called prefetching. That work is now split into two steps:
- First step: system context, cloud-provider sign-in prefetch and initializers.
- Second step: tip prewarm, the remote fetch and the detector for stalls in the event loop (the part of the program that handles work in turn).
A new check skips the user-context and system-context prefetch, and the remote fetch, in one mode. The system-context prefetch for trusted folders now also calls one more function.
Startup work is now ordered in two stages, and in one mode some of it is not done at all.
