A skill is a packaged set of instructions Claude can use. When a skill can only be handed over as a file for you to download or save, Claude receives guidance about how to talk about it. That guidance has been reworded in two ways:
- The save or download option must be mentioned in the text of the reply itself, not only in a caption, because "some apps don't show captions".
- Using the skill should be described only conditionally, and the guidance lists phrasings to avoid, such as "once it's saved …" and "once added …".
Why
If your app hides captions, you should still see in the reply that there is a file to save. Claude should also stop writing as if the skill is already installed before you have actually added it.
