What
Some temporary directories must be readable only by you. The check for these now records two identity numbers from the file system: the device number and the inode, which together pick out one exact directory. The check used to return only the path.
Why
Before removing the directory, Claude Code can confirm it is still the same directory it created. That protects against deleting something else that has since taken its place at that path.
