What
Five plugin commands now pass the plugin name you type through a lookup step that is meant to turn an alias (an alternative name) into the real plugin: uninstall, disable, enable, update and details. In this build the lookup always returns the name unchanged, so these commands behave exactly as before. When one of them fails, it also reports the looked-up name to telemetry, the usage reporting Claude Code sends back.
There are two small visible changes:
plugin update: the message no longer includes " at scope" when you did not give a scope.plugin details: the plugin name shown in error messages is escaped, so unusual characters are displayed safely instead of being interpreted.
Why
For now, type plugin names the same way you always have. The alias step is in place but inactive. The only differences you may see are the cleaner plugin update message and safer error text from plugin details.
