To decide whether two file paths are the same regardless of capital letters, Claude Code converts both to a common case. That conversion now lowercases, then uppercases, then lowercases again. It previously only uppercased and then lowercased. This matches how Claude Code already folds file names on Windows.

Paths with unusual Unicode letters, meaning characters outside plain English, are more likely to be treated as equal when they should be.
