MCP servers are outside tools Claude Code can connect to. OAuth is a standard way of signing in to them. The settings schema, the rules that describe valid settings, now tags each OAuth mode with a minimum version:

  • dcr: availableInVersion "1.15200.0"
  • byo: availableInVersion "1.15200.0"
  • hosted: availableInVersion "1.32885.1"
