In some logs, Claude Code shows a shortened preview of JSON data. JSON is a common text format for structured data. The helper that builds these previews already rewrote non-ASCII characters as escape codes. It now also rewrites runs of two or more spaces: it keeps the first space and writes each of the others as \u0020, the code for a space.
Why
Runs of spaces in a log preview now show up as visible codes instead of blank stretches. If you read these previews, expect \u0020 where extra spaces were.
