What
Claude Code now records the moment keyboard input arrives while it works through a batch of keypresses. Checks that depend on timing use that moment instead of the current clock time. These include:
- Double-press to cancel: pressing a key twice quickly to stop something.
- Dialog anti-misclick windows: the short delay that stops a dialog from reacting to a keypress meant for something else.
Why
In practice, these windows are measured against when you actually pressed the key. If Claude Code is slow to get to your input, the delay no longer counts against the time you have.
