New code would let claude -p --cloud run a single task in a cloud session with nobody watching. -p is short for --print, which runs Claude once without the interactive screen. In this mode Claude Code creates or attaches to a cloud session, sends the prompt, waits for the result, prints it as text or JSON, and records how the run ended. Any request for permission to use a tool is refused automatically, because nobody is there to answer.
The path comes with its own checks:
A task given both as the value of --cloud and as the prompt is rejected with "the task was given twice".
The existing checks that reject --cloud or --environment together with --print make an exception for this path.
Everything depends on a setting called cloudPrintEnabled. The function behind it always returns false in 2.1.281, so none of this can be reached.
Why
Nothing changes for you in this version. claude -p --cloud still behaves as before.
