These changes affect print mode, where Claude Code runs without its interactive screen, and the SDK, the toolkit programs use to drive Claude Code.
- Model list: the list of supported models is now reported as
{models, unavailable}, so it also includes a separate set of models that are unavailable. - Model-switch notes: Claude Code normally adds a short note to the conversation when the model changes. It now skips that note when the model was picked at launch, exposed as
isLaunchModelPick. - First-turn gate: a
firstTurnGateis added to the handler for incoming messages. - Host service: one service on the host machine now starts only when the spare-claim state is not "parked".
Why
Programs that read the model list can now tell which models are unavailable instead of only seeing the ones on offer. Choosing a model at launch no longer adds a model-switch note to the conversation.
