What
Claude Code checks the values of some git options before treating a git command as read-only. That check changed in three ways:
--group is now checked along with --format, --pretty and --sort- Every checked value is now tested for
~ after = or :, or ~ together with {
- An extra check on format placeholders now runs only on
--format and --pretty
In a shell, ~ can expand into a home directory path.
Why
Git commands that use --group, or carry a tilde in these option values, are less likely to be treated as safe without a prompt.
