What
A gateway URL is a web address that Claude Code sends its requests through. Claude Code now parses the address and stores it in a standard form, for example with the host name in lowercase and every trailing slash removed. Before, it only trimmed the text and removed one trailing slash.
The existing rule is unchanged: a gateway URL must use https://, and plain http:// is only allowed for localhost during development.
Why
Two ways of writing the same address, such as one with a capitalised host or an extra slash, are now treated as the same gateway.
