What
A gateway is a server an organisation runs itself to sit between its users and Claude. Its policy checker, which reviews the admin's policy rules for mistakes, now warns when there are desktop policies but none of them sets serve_to_desktop. Without that setting, Claude Code in Desktop's Code tab gets a "not found" (404) error when it asks for /managed/settings.
Two smaller changes:
- Error messages coming back from further upstream are cleaned before they are written to the logs.
- Gateway login errors now say whether the problem was the
proxyor thegateway.
Why
Administrators get an early warning about a setup that would otherwise leave Desktop's Code tab without its managed settings. The error category also makes it quicker to tell which part of the chain failed during login.
