What
The part of Claude Code that uploads files for directory sync no longer keeps count of what it does. It no longer tracks:
- uploads made
- failures
- timeouts
- bytes sent
- counts of each response status
- device-proof state
The telemetry events tengu_dir_sync_upload_start and tengu_dir_sync_upload_complete are gone. Telemetry is the usage data Claude Code sends back to Anthropic. The functions putSeedRow and logUploadComplete are gone as well. The upload client now offers only putLaneRow, getLaneFile, beginUpload, commitUpload and getDownload.
Why
Directory-sync uploads send less usage data, and the step for uploading a seed row no longer exists.
