What
Before directory sync runs git in a checkout, it checks that the .git folder looks like something git itself would create. When the check refuses a checkout because of that folder or the shared folder it points to, it now returns a dotgitStamp. The check also passes probes to the code that reads the folder layout. Linked worktrees (extra working copies attached to the same repository) now get their own configuration context. The refusal messages written to the log are unchanged.
