When Claude Code starts another program, it passes that program a set of environment variables, which are named values that programs read for configuration. A scrubber removes certain variables from that set first. CLAUDE_CODE_MCP_APPS_HOST is now on the list of removed variables, and when it is set, it causes the scrubbing step to run.

Why

Programs started by Claude Code no longer see CLAUDE_CODE_MCP_APPS_HOST, even when it is set in Claude Code's own environment.
