After you sign in with /login, Claude Code now refreshes the policy limits that apply to your account. The refresh has a time limit, so it cannot hang, and once it is done a further step runs.
Why
Limits that belong to the account you just signed in to are fetched right after sign-in, instead of any earlier values staying in place.
