What
The logic that turns raw Anthropic API 400 errors into internal reason codes gained several new categories:
A misplaced system-role message is now distinguished from a generally unsupported one.
Web-search results whose encrypted content fails to decrypt or validate are now classified separately, as web_search_content_rejected.
Encrypted code-execution output (stdout) that fails similarly is classified as code_execution_output_rejected.
These new classifiers recognize the specific API error messages and map them to these new named outcomes in the retry/error-recovery dispatcher.
Why
More precise error classification lets Claude Code respond appropriately to specific API failure types (for example, retrying or explaining the issue) instead of treating them all as generic, unexplained errors.
