What
Claude Code keeps your working files in sync with the cloud (for example during teleport or cloud sessions) by capturing changes with a git-based directory-sync process. If a pending batch of changes is too large (200 or more changed files, or over a byte-size limit), that capture step now returns a kept_here result with reason file_store_full instead of always shipping the changes or failing outright.
- When a shell command's effects can't be synced back because the file store is full, the notice now says so explicitly instead of showing a generic message.
- When an upload is held for this reason, the message tells you that nothing on your machine can fix it, and that after your next message, file sync for the session ends and commands will run directly on that machine's files instead.
Why
Previously a full file store looked like any other sync failure, leaving users unsure what to do. The new message is specific about the cause and tells users what happens next, instead of the generic guidance used for other kept_here situations.
What practically happens to the session or its files once this 'kept_here' fallback triggers is not described beyond the label.
