DisclaimerUnofficial, and not affiliated with Anthropic. Nearly all of this is read straight out of what ships: npm bundles, captured prompts, published docs. Anthropic's own notes go in verbatim, marked as theirs. The rest is my reading, and every entry carries the strings behind it. If one looks wrong, vote it down and say why.

Claude Code v2.1.121

Shell CWD Recovery

What

When the shell's current working directory is deleted (e.g., by a branch switch or cleanup), Claude Code now recovers gracefully and informs the user.

Details
  • Detects when cwd is removed and recovers to a valid directory
  • Shows message: "{path} was deleted; shell cwd recovered to {new path}"
  • Advises re-issuing the command from the recovered directory
Evidence

CWD recovery handler (search for "was deleted; shell cwd recovered")

Strings lifted out of the shipped bundle, so the claim above can be checked against them.
