When you reopen a session whose Anthropic-hosted [environment expired](#environment-expired), or send a message to a session that a self-hosted runner [released while it was idle](/docs/en/self-hosted-environments-reference#runner-cli-flags), Claude Code resumes the session in the permission mode it was in.
