+Claude Code attaches a credential to a telemetry or usage-metrics request only when the request goes to the host the credential belongs to. While `ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL` points at the gateway, Claude Code sends its telemetry events to Anthropic without your gateway credential. With a [credential variable](#set-the-credential-variable) or `apiKeyHelper` also active, Claude Code doesn't report usage metrics to the Console [analytics dashboard](/docs/en/analytics#access-analytics-for-api-customers). Before v2.1.246, Claude Code could attach the gateway credential to telemetry and usage-metrics requests bound for Anthropic hosts; model requests always went to the gateway with the credential the gateway expects.
